I like movies. A lot. A good movie will make you smile, tell you something about this world that you didn't know and give you something to talk about with your friends. Most importantly, a good movie will make you feel something. You could be laughing like a child or having a knot in your troat. Biting your fingernails or covering your eyes and peeking through your fingers. Moan in frustration or sigh in delight. Maybe all of the above.
A good movie stays with you long after you saw it. It is planted in your head when you watch it but gets processed while you lay in bed and wait to fall asleep. After a while you want to watch that movie again and you see it with different eyes. You pick up little details that went unnoticed the last time, but you have just as much fun and excitement watching it. That's what a good movie is.
Some people believe that a good movie has to be serious. I personally don't think so. A good comedy, action movie or science-fiction can be just as entertaining as a drama. Let's not discriminate and give all genres an equal opportunity.
